About Us

We are a couple of technology enthusiasts and not a large corporation. We started TechOnTheNet.com in 2003 to provide a source of information about databases and MS Office products that we used on the job ourselves. When we needed to quickly look up a syntax or example, the site was always there and saved many hours of time! As we learned more, we added more to the site.

You may have noticed that we are not graphic designers nor have the budget to hire one. However, we are proud of the many years that we have put into the site and we hope that the quality of the content makes up for the lack of flash and pizazz. We have created the site one page at a time without the benefit of modern tools like Wordpress (Wordpress didn't exist back then!). We have tried to organize the information in a useful and easy to navigate format.

As our careers have introduced us to new technologies, we have tried to bring what we have learned to the site. This has resulted in new topics that may not have much content yet. Our intention is to add to these new sections over time, so we hope you are willing to grow with us as we learn.

To keep the quality of the site high, we test and use all of the technology ourselves.

Advertising

Technology is a passion of ours and our goal has always been to offer great technical information for free. The limited number of ads we display on TechOnTheNet.com are just enough to cover the hosting costs and costs of adding new content to the site. Without advertisements we would not be able to offer this website.

We display no more than four advertisements on a page and do not use pop-ups, pop-unders or large ads that appear over the content. We clearly mark our advertisements, place them in locations that are not intrusive, and do not try to deceive you into accidentally clicking on them.

While we use third-party advertising partners, we do have control over the quality and type of ad we display. We do our very best to ensure that our advertising is of the highest quality.

Our advertising partners may use various techniques including cookies to serve better advertisements to you. Read our Privacy Policy to learn more about how cookies are used on this website.

If you have a concern with a particular advertisement, please let us know through our Online Feedback Form.

Our Other Sites

BigActivities.com

After launching TechOnTheNet.com in 2003, we started to have families of our own and encountered the age old question of "how can we keep the kids busy while we are working?!"

We came up with the idea to create kids activities that were educational and fun. We wanted to use them for our own kids but also make them available to others. So we created BigActivities.com where you can find lots of coloring pages, connect the dots, word searches, mazes, math worksheets, and so much more!! Many of the activities are dynamic and change each time you visit.

CheckYourMath.com

After getting back to work now that the kids were occupied, we found it frustrating that there were few good resources out there for conversions and other math calculations. For example, when searching for conversions, it was difficult to find everything you were looking for in one place. So we created a new site called CheckYourMath.com.

The site started as a resource for Metric, Imperial, and US Customary Unit conversions. Since then, we've also added Geometry calculations. Now when the kids ask us, "How many ounces are in a gallon?" ... or ... "How do you calculate the area of a triangle?!" No problem...just look it up on CheckYourMath.com.

DigMinecraft.com

Now that our kids have grown older, they have discovered the popular game called Minecraft. Our homes became filled with talk of creepers, lava, TNT, redstone, swords, and bows. We wanted to save ourselves the trouble of running out and buying a Minecraft book for the kids to learn the basics, so we came up with the idea to create a website with everything that we had learned about the game. So we got the kids involved, took screenshots and created DigMinecraft.com.
