MS Excel 2011 for Mac: Hide zero value lines within a pivot table

This Excel tutorial explains how to hide zero value lines within a pivot table in Excel 2011 for Mac (with screenshots and step-by-step instructions).

Question: Is there a way to hide zero valued lines within a pivot table in Microsoft Excel 2011 for Mac? i.e. I have a table with two columns Order ID and Total (Sum of Quantity) and I would like to hide the Orders with no quantity total against them - is this possible?

Answer: Let's look at an example. Below is a spreadsheet that contains values that are zeros. We want to hide these lines from being displayed in the pivot table.

Microsoft Excel

Click somewhere in the pivot table to display the PivotTable Builder.

Microsoft Excel

Drag the Quantity field from the "Field name" box to the Report Filter section. You should now see a Quantity drop down appear in row 1 in your spreadsheet.

Microsoft Excel

Click on the arrow to the right of the Quantity drop down box and a popup menu will appear. Un-select the checkbox next to the 0 value and click on the X in the top left of the Quantity window.

Microsoft Excel

Now when you return to the spreadsheet, the zero lines should be hidden.
